The professional League of Legends esports league, League of Legends European Championship (LEC), which is run by Riot Games, has opened its doors to fans.

The Finals weekend which is held in Berlin, Germany, admitted fans into the building as Fnatic took on G2 Esports.

Riot had earlier announced that the Finals will feature a live audience, with a limited number of attendees. They make public that they had put measures in place to safely organize the event without any negative effects.

“While we are closely monitoring the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we are finally confident that we can ensure a safe environment for our fans to celebrate the Spring 2022 Finals in a one-off event. In order to ensure the highest safety, we are limiting the number of attendees.”

While fans relish the experience of being back at the event, they couldn’t help but wish it was also considered during the playoffs. They had expressed their disappointment over the week, leading to the League of Legends Finals Weekend.

But Riot was on hand to reiterate that the decision was based on safety reasons. Promising that they would be bringing fans to the studio in a controlled fashion, taking incremental steps for safety purposes.

“Safety is still our number one priority, so we are taking small, incremental steps to ensure that the reintegration of our much-missed audience happens as smoothly as possible. Bringing fans back to the studio in a controlled manner has required a lot of planning and the 2022 LEC Spring Season Finals is the first opportunity we have to allow us to do this safely.”

Fnatic has been pegged as the favorite with esports betting sites to win in this final fixture against G2 Esports by major esports sportsbook apps.

1XBET has Fnatic’s moneyline odds placed at $1.58 and G2 Esports at $2.17. Both teams have won three of their last five matches, with Fnatic taking the advantage over G2 Esports in their last five head-to-head outings.
