As part of the legal proceedings, EDG reportedly requested a travel ban on Scout, complicating his ability to participate in the World Championship.
Scout had planned to return to South Korea for vacation but has been forced to remain in China while the case progresses.
If the court rules against him, the travel ban could extend into October, meaning Scout would miss the Swiss stage of Worlds, held in Berlin.

This situation places LNG in a precarious position, as they currently lack a substitute mid-laner.
Their only substitute is Zhao “Shadow” Ziqiang, a former jungler who lacks Scout’s expertise in the mid-lane.
Although some teams have filled gaps by loaning players, Scout’s absence would severely impact LNG’s chances at Worlds due to his pivotal role in their success.
Scout has been instrumental in LNG’s performance, helping them secure a fourth-place finish in the 2024 LPL Summer Split playoffs and win the Regional Finals over Weibo Gaming.
His potential absence would disrupt LNG’s momentum, as they rely heavily on his individual skill to compete at the highest level.
SuperGent, the agency representing Scout, has issued a public plea to EDG, urging them to lift the travel ban for the sake of both the fans and LNG’s performance at Worlds.
However, without EDG’s cooperation, it seems unlikely that Scout will be able to attend.
Complicating matters further are rumours that Scout’s agency may have mishandled his contractual obligations, potentially breaching contracts while trying to secure his transfer to LNG.
As the 2024 World Championship approaches, Scout’s involvement remains uncertain.
If the legal battle doesn’t resolve in his favour, LNG will be forced to find a replacement and adapt quickly.

JDG were not sharp on the day, with apparent communication issues and no planning involved in their approach to the series. On the maps Seo “Kanavi” Jin-hyeok and co. won; they looked very dominant but misplayed their poke composition on map five, which led to a painful loss.
Ninjas in Pyjamas failed to make it much further after beating JD Gaming, as they got torn apart by Weibo Gaming in Round 3. There is not much to take from that series, but it did prove just how fast-and-famine Ninjas in Pyjamas can be.
Qualitatively, JD Gaming are the superior team, even though their last clash with Ninjas in Pyjamas might not make it that obvious. However, they did play a close series against JD Gaming during the regular season and once again in the playoffs, making it seem like NiP are the better pick at outsider odds.
From afar, this looks like a dog or pass match, but it is tough to doubt JD Gaming, who have the talent to end the split inside the top-three. Ninjas in Pyjamas seem too inconsistent to find any success at the top level.

Bilibili Gaming will defend their League of Legends Pro League (LPL) title on Friday, August 30, when they clash with Weibo Gaming in the LPL 2024 Summer Playoffs grand final. Zhuo “knight” Ding and co. took care of business a week ago when they clashed with Weibo and once before during the regular season, so it is hard to question their ability to win on Friday. But even though the last fixture ended in a 3-0 sweep, the final result does not tell the whole story.
It was a competitive game that could have easily ended another way, but Bilibili Gaming narrowly kept winning most of the skirmishes. Weibo weren’t bad on the day, Bilibili Gaming were just slightly better.
Since then, BLG and Weibo have both beaten Top Esports, with 3-1 and 3-2, the latter being more interesting, as all five maps were complete stomps – one way or the other. It was an extremely solid performance from the outsiders, who schooled Top Esports despite mid laner Li “Xiaohu” Yuan-Hao playing exceptionally poorly.
That win also proved that Weibo Gaming’s ceiling is very high; it’s only a matter of consistency and whether they can produce another showing like it on Friday. Not that Weibo is known for being reliable, but they have shown two excellent performances heading into the grand finals.
This is still Bilibili Gaming’s game to lose, as they are stronger, but only slightly. At $5.74 with the top LoL betting sites, Weibo Gaming are criminally underrated and an excellent bet to win a map and as a smaller position on the +1.5 maps market.

Weibo have been playing well enough against top teams, and since LNG belong in the same basket as them quality-wise, you have to question whether having them priced at $2.43 is fair. That might not mean much given LNG’s controlled style of play and — as seen in their series against TES — ability to slow down strong early-game teams. On the other hand, both LPL sides showed improved performances in the previous round.
This should be a very competitive series. There is not much to set them apart in terms of quality, and while LNG Esports tend to do well against Weibo Gaming’s style, it is not like the underdogs rely only on their early game to get themselves in advantageous positions.
At plus money, Weibo Gaming are the more appealing pick.

A few close games against top LPL contenders should not make Anyone’s Legend a serious threat to Bilibili Gaming. But knowing that the defending champions have not been the most convincing in their past games, it is fair to expect AL to take one map off them.

Invictus Gaming are still a bit shaky, and even if they find their rhythm, they’re not at the same level as Anyone’s Legend. AL already had strong performance figures in the LPL 2024 Spring, and with an upgraded roster, they should do more than fine against lesser squads.

Over their first two series of the LPL 2024 Summer Placement, NiP have not shown any significant improvement, and even though that’s a very small sample size, Ninjas in Pyjamas are not to be trusted as big favourites until they prove otherwise.
Ultra Prime should get smashed by Ninjas in Pyjamas. However, on Sunday, Ultra Prime proved to be fairly efficient against teams who aren’t decisive enough with a 2-1 victory over Weibo Gaming.
Ultra Prime are not real title contenders, but Ninjas in Pyjamas are an easy fade as $1.08 favourites with esports betting sites.

Oh My God have not added any new players this offseason, so they enter the LPL 2024 Summer Placements with a lot of continuity. They did enough in LPL 2024 Spring to sneak into the playoffs, yet OMG weren’t exactly title contenders.
Rare Atom, on the other side, missed the spring playoffs completely, with just four wins to their name. Unsurprisingly, they decided to rebuild for the second half of the year.
Bringing in top-laner Liu “Yu” Yu, jungler Peng “Xiaohao” Hao, and Sun “Jwei” Jun-Wei, Rare Atom cut the dead weight and added players who could fit in with their aggressive style of play. But while this iteration could do better, it’s hard to imagine Rare Atom competing for top spots.
Considering Oh My God are not that good, there are priced as heavy favourites with esports betting sites. Even though Rare Atom still have to prove that their new lineup will work, they have the right tools to be feisty underdogs.

Royal Never Give Up enter this match off a crushing 2-0 loss to Team WE in a series where they choked with a 5k gold lead on the second map. There are reasons to feel optimistic about Royal Never Give Up, but not for this match. Bilibili Gaming are one of the best LoL esports teams in the world, performing at an exceptional level both individually and as a unit.
They’ve played a ton of games this season, so there is a chance some fatigue could be settling in. Still, this is not the game where you’d bet against the Mid-Season Invitational 2024 runners-up.
Royal Never Give Up will have side choice, so we’re taking Bilibili to win their map pick with 10 kills to spare.
